Inspiration from Philip Larkin (1985).
Someone Special
I don't know how to tell you this.
I don't know how to start,
I wish I didn't have to write this poem.
Because I don't want to break your heart.
Because I don't want to break your heart.
I want you to know -
My feelings for you are the still same.
There was a time in my life you were my whole world.
But then I met someone special.
He taught me how to love again - he gave me new hope.
He taught me how I could care for him, too.
He found me sad - fighting the loneliness from my broken heart.
But then I met someone special.
He taught me how to love again - he gave me new hope.
He taught me how I could care for him, too.
He found me sad - fighting the loneliness from my broken heart.
He fixed me up and gave me brand new parts.
I'll admit it. I love you both - without a doubt in mind.
But the truth is, I love him most.
Don't be mad at me like I was at you.
Because someday you will find someone special, too.
But the truth is, I love him most.
Don't be mad at me like I was at you.
Because someday you will find someone special, too.
